The (not so magic) formula for being a Fertility Expert.
I LOVE hosting a podcast. It's so much fun talking to guests who are enthusiastic about fertility and I've noticed a trend in the guests who really knock it out of the park...
Hello Fertile Guides!
If you’ve been following me on Instagram or subscribe to Baby Dust, you know that I launched a podcast in November/December. Podcasting has been a beautiful blend of my passion for fertility and my eclectic, professional background. (In case you didn’t know, I worked in broadcast television, was a touring musician, hosted my own radio short, and a few other things before diving into health and wellness. Ahh that feels like so long ago now!) I love sitting down with guests, diving into their area of expertise, and just soaking up all the wisdom.
After interviewing quite a few guests, I’ve noticed a trend in what sets true experts apart. Today, I’m sharing the three, key things that that you can implement today to help you grow as a coach and fertility expert:
Know your why. Why do you do this work and what brought you to it?
Work on becoming an expert in your niche. While knowing a little bit about everything is useful, being a true expert in one or two areas is what will set you apart from other professionals. Don’t be afraid of niching for a while - or permanently. Being an expert in whatever aspect of fertility speaks to you gives you a unique draw for the clients who really need your support. Personal Note: I can really tell when I’m talking to someone who has lived in the nooks and crannies of a topic. Our conversations are 100x more meaningful and extra nuggets of wisdom magically appear that are incredibly helpful.
Don’t be afraid to go beyond what is comfortable. There’s a temptation to just remain in the knowledge that is comfortable. Nearly every guest I interview has a story about stepping outside of her comfort zone. Without jumping into what seemed scary, overwhelming, or completely new, they never would’ve realized the true potential of their work.
Made possible by generous supporters like you. Give to my book fund.
